Following the release of the Mueller Report, the final report of the Special Counsel into Donald Trump, Russia, and Collusion, APPC Director Kathleen Hall Jamieson discussed the role of Russian trolls and hackers in the 2016 election and what should be done by social media platforms, news outlets, and others to prevent a repeat in 2020, as detailed in her book “Cyberwar: How Russian Hackers and Trolls Helped Elect a President.”
In a talk with Columbia University’s president Lee C. Bollinger, Hillary Clinton referred to Jamieson’s book in a discussion about the impact of Russian hacking on the 2016 election.
On April 26, 2019, Jamieson spoke on a panel titled “Weaponizing cyberspace in the 2020 campaign” at the Society of Professional Journalists’ “Quo Vadis Democracy in an Age of Disinformation?” summit. See the SPJ session below.

Jamieson appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on April 22, 2019 to discuss some of the findings of the Mueller Report.
