Pollster Peter Hart will conduct a focus group in St. Louis on March 22 to explore presidential candidate Donald Trump’s strengths and weaknesses as seen by Republican and independent voters.
The Missouri focus group, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET, is the fourth in this election cycle of “Voices of the Voters,” a series run by Hart for the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The timing of the session, after the Missouri, Florida and Ohio primaries, “affords an excellent and fleeting opportunity to understand what drives Trump’s support, and what uncertainties and anxieties motivated those who did not vote for Trump” in the March 15 primaries, Hart said.
The focus group is designed to understand Republicans’ and independents’ views of Trump “with a long lens” and “hear voters’ voices and understand the elements that have allowed Donald Trump to succeed and be in a position to win the nomination.”
Hart’s focus group for the policy center follows earlier sessions with Ohio voters in December 2015; Indiana voters in October 2015; and Colorado voters in January 2015.
